Your UPI ID stays on your device – the QR code is generated in your browser and we never see it.

UPI QR Code Generator – One QR code that every UPI app can pay: Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon

Quick answer: enter your UPI ID (like yourname@okhdfcbank or 98xxxxxx10@ybl), your name as the payee, and an optional amount in rupees. The code follows the NPCI upi://pay format, so any UPI app shows your name and the amount and asks the payer for their UPI PIN. Always test with ₹1 before printing.

What is inside a UPI QR code

The code holds a link such as upi://pay?pa=shop@okaxis&pn=Sharma%20Stores&am=250&cu=INR:

  • pa – payee address, your UPI ID. This decides where the money goes.
  • pn – payee name shown to the payer, so they know they’re paying the right person.
  • am – amount in rupees (optional). Leave it out and the payer types the amount.
  • cu – currency, always INR for UPI.

Find your UPI ID

Open your UPI app and look under your profile or bank account: Google Pay shows it under your photo, PhonePe under My Money › UPI ID, Paytm under UPI & payment settings. Copy it exactly – a single wrong letter sends the payment request to nobody (the app will show an error, so money isn’t lost).

Static shop code vs. per-bill code

For a counter, leave the amount empty: one printed code takes every payment. For invoices, class fees or delivery bills, put the amount in – the customer just enters their PIN, and you avoid “I sent ₹25 instead of ₹250”.

For international customers who don’t use UPI, add a PayPal QR code beside it. Restaurants commonly place the payment code on the same card as a menu QR code, and the GST / sales tax calculator helps when you need to show GST separately.

How to create a UPI QR code

  1. Enter your UPI ID. Copy it from your UPI app, for example name@okhdfcbank. The VPA decides where money goes.
  2. Add your name. Type it in the “Payee name” box so payers see who they are paying.
  3. Add an amount (optional). In rupees, like 499 or 499.50. Leave empty for a reusable counter code.
  4. Test with ₹1. Pay yourself ₹1 from another phone, check it arrived, then download and print.

Business accounts and soundboxes

Banks and payment apps give merchant QR codes with settlement reports and payment soundboxes. A code from here is ideal for freelancers, tutors, small sellers and personal collections; if you need GST invoices from the payment app or high daily limits, use your bank’s merchant QR as well.

Print a payment standee

“Payment card PNG” and “Payment card PDF” create an A6 card with your name, the QR code, your UPI ID and the amount if fixed, plus the line “Google Pay · PhonePe · Paytm · BHIM · any UPI app”. Laminate it for the counter, or put it in a tabletop stand – the same thing banks hand out, without the paperwork.

Avoid the common UPI QR scams

  • You never scan to receive money. If a “buyer” sends you a QR code to “receive payment”, it is a collect request – don’t enter your PIN.
  • Check your printed code now and then. Fraudsters sometimes paste their own sticker over shop codes. Scan it and confirm your name appears.
  • Payee name matters. Adding it here means customers see your name before paying, which builds trust.

Frequently asked questions

Which apps can scan this UPI QR code?

All UPI apps: Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, WhatsApp Pay, CRED and banks’ own apps.

Is it safe to share my UPI QR code?

Yes. Scanning it can only send money to you. You never need to scan a code or enter your PIN to receive money – anyone asking you to is a scammer.

Can I set a fixed amount?

Yes. Enter it in the amount box; the payer sees it pre-filled. Some apps let them change it.

Does it work for a UPI ID linked to a mobile number?

Yes, IDs like 9876543210@ybl or @paytm work the same way.

Will I get payment notifications?

Your UPI and bank apps notify you as usual. The QR code itself has no tracking.

Is there any fee?

Person-to-person UPI payments are free. We do not charge anything for the QR code.

Can I print a UPI payment card?

Yes. Use “Payment card PNG” or “Payment card PDF” for an A6 standee with your name, code, UPI ID and amount.

What is the payment note (tn)?

A short description such as an order number. Many UPI apps show it to the payer and in both transaction histories.

Does the amount stay fixed when people scan?

The amount is pre-filled. Most UPI apps lock it for merchant-style codes, but some let the payer edit it, so always check the received amount.
