Quick answer: to delete pages from a PDF, open the file on this page, tap the pages you want to remove (or type them, like 2, 5-7) and press Delete pages & download. You get a new PDF without those pages. Everything happens in your browser, so the file is never uploaded, and the deleted pages are completely removed from the new file.
Key facts
- Price: free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
- Privacy: the PDF is processed on your own device and never uploaded.
- What you keep: the remaining pages are copied exactly: same text, images, fonts and quality. Text stays selectable and links between kept pages still work.
- What disappears: deleted pages are not hidden, they are left out of the new file completely, so their content cannot be recovered from it.
- Works on: Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebooks, in any modern browser.
How to delete pages from a PDF
- Open your PDF. Click Select PDF file or drop the file onto the page. A thumbnail of every page appears.
- Pick the pages to remove. Tap a page to mark it with a red cross. Tap it again to keep it. You can also type pages and ranges, such as 1, 4-6, 12-, or use a quick pick like Blank pages.
- Check the count. The panel shows how many pages will be deleted and how many stay.
- Download. Press Delete pages & download. The new PDF is saved with “-pages-removed” added to the name, and your original file is not changed.
Three ways to choose pages
| Method | Best when | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Tap the thumbnails | You want to see the pages before removing them, for example to spot an empty scan or a duplicate. | Tap page 3 and page 9. |
| Type pages and ranges | You already know the page numbers, or the document is long. | 1, 4-6, 40- removes page 1, pages 4 to 6, and page 40 to the end. |
| Quick select | You want a pattern: blank pages, odd or even pages, the first or last page. | Blank pages finds empty pages in a scanned document. |
Remove blank pages automatically
Scanners and double-sided copiers are great at producing empty pages: the back of every single-sided sheet ends up in the PDF. Blank pages looks at each page the way your eyes would and selects the ones with nothing printed on them. It ignores the dark edge many scanners leave around the page, and it copes with grey or yellowish paper. The pages are only selected, not deleted, so you can check them in the thumbnails and keep any page that was marked by mistake, such as a page with only a very faint signature.
When people delete PDF pages
- Before sharing a document: take out a page with bank details, salary information or internal notes before you send a contract or a report to someone else.
- Job and visa applications: upload only the pages that were asked for, such as the first page of a passport scan or the signed page of a letter.
- Bank statements and bills: remove the advert and terms pages so the statement is shorter and easier to read.
- Downloaded e-books and reports: drop empty pages, cover pages or chapters you don't need, especially before printing.
- Scanned paperwork: remove blank backs, duplicates and failed scans in one go.
- Merged files: after combining PDFs with Merge PDF, take out the duplicate cover pages.
- Upload size limits: fewer pages usually means a smaller file. If it is still too big, run it through Compress PDF.
Why “really deleted” matters
Some PDF tools remove a page by simply unlinking it. The page no longer shows, but its text and images can stay inside the file, where someone with the right software can still find them. CleanPDF builds a brand-new PDF that contains only the pages you keep. A page you delete, with everything on it, is simply not in the new file. That makes a real difference when the reason you are deleting a page is that it contains something private.

| Turn sideways pages the right way up | Rotate PDF |
Privacy and security
Your PDF is opened, edited and saved inside your browser. It is not uploaded, stored or seen by anyone, which is exactly what you want when the pages you are removing are confidential. No account is needed and nothing is added to your document. Once the page has loaded, the tool keeps working even if you go offline.
Good to know
- Your original file is never changed. You always download a new copy.
- Form fields keep working on the pages you keep, and the document title and author are copied to the new file.
- Bookmarks (the outline panel) are not copied, because many of them would point to pages that no longer exist. Links inside the pages that jump to a kept page still work. Links that jumped to a deleted page are removed.
- Very long documents are fine: thumbnails are drawn as you scroll, so even PDFs with hundreds of pages open quickly.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF.
